Heinrich Hoffman: Struwwelpeter, Merry Stories & Funny Pictures

London and Glasgow: Blackie & Son Limited, (1920-2940)

Edition: Undated Blackie reprint edition

Binding: Publisher's original pictorial paper-covered boards, printed with the iconic "Shockheaded Peter" graphic against a tan background; backed with a green cloth spine.

Pagination: Completely illustrated throughout with Hoffman's classic colour woodcut-style illustrations accompanying the cautionery verses.

Exterior: Fair. The paper boards show noticeable surface scuffing, general finger-soiling, and scratching. Heavy rubbing and chipping to the outer edges and corners. The green cloth spine remains intact but shows wear at the head and foot.

Interior: Poor to fair. Internal pages show mild finger-soiling and expected handling marks consistent with a children's book of this vintage. The inner front hinge is completely split, exposing the underlying linen mesh webbing and leaving the front cover structurally loose from the text block.

Provenance/Markings: Clean text pages. No previous owner signatures or insciptions.

A complete but structurally worn reading or reference copy of the famous German cauionery classic, priced to reflect the split inner binding.
