The Allies Fairy Book, illustrated by Arthur Rackham

William Heinemann, London, 1916.

First edition.

Introduction by: Edmund Gosse C.B.

Binding: Original blue cloth with gilt lettering and pictorial vignettes on the upper board. Text block is structurally intact, though there is some light cracking/separation visible at the inner hinge exposing the mesh backing which is typical for this edition. Original blue cloth shows some shelf wear, rubbing along the edges and minor edging but the gold gilt stamping on the front cover remains defined and legible.

Interior: The charming black-and-white line illustrations and decorated endpapers by Arthur Rackham are fully intact, clear, and well-preserved. Pages display typical, light vintage foxing (age spotting) appropriate for a book of this era. Previous owner's name written neatly in ink at the top of the front endpapers
